Atopic dermatitis in dogs and cats is an intensely itchy skin inflammation, usually caused by allergy. The most important cause is an allergic reaction to allergens produced by house dust mites, microscopic creatures that are plentiful in soft materials such as beds and carpets. The primary source of exposure to dust mite allergen for most pets is in their beds. Mission: Allergy’s Allergy Approved pet beds contain an inner allergen-barrier made of Mission: Allergy Premium Microfiber, which surrounds the soft filling and prevents colonization by dust mites. It also prevents any dust mite allergen in the bed from reaching the pet’s skin. The outer cover should be removed and washed every 1-2 weeks to remove any accumulated surface dust and allergen. These pet beds are soft and comfortable, suitable for use as orthopedic beds, with side vents that allow air exchange.
